Repair Terms.
Overview
These Repair Terms ("Repair Terms") govern all device repair services ("Services") performed by Fixoid, operated by Fixoid 1 LLC ("Fixoid," "we," "us," or "our"). By dropping off your device, authorizing a repair in person or online, or accepting a service estimate, you ("Customer," "you," "your") agree to be bound by these Repair Terms in full.
These Repair Terms apply separately from our general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which govern use of our website and communications. In the event of a conflict between these Repair Terms and any other document, these Repair Terms govern with respect to device repair services.
Fixoid reserves the right to refuse service to any customer or for any device at its sole discretion.
Device Authorization
By submitting a device for service, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the lawful owner of the device, or you have explicit written authorization from the owner to authorize repairs on their behalf
- You have the legal right to consent to inspection, disassembly, and repair of the device
- The device is not reported lost or stolen and is not subject to any active law enforcement hold or investigation
- You are 18 years of age or older, or are acting with the consent of a parent or legal guardian
Fixoid reserves the right to request proof of ownership or authorization at any time. We reserve the right to refuse service or contact law enforcement if we have reason to believe a device is stolen or that the person submitting the device does not have authorization to do so. Submitting a device you do not own or are not authorized to repair may constitute fraud or theft under applicable law.
Data & Backup Responsibility
You are solely responsible for backing up all data, files, photos, contacts, applications, and any other information stored on your device before submitting it for service. This includes but is not limited to:
- Photos and videos
- Contacts and messages
- App data, settings, and saved progress
- Documents, downloads, and personal files
- Passwords and authentication data stored on the device
Fixoid is not responsible for any loss, corruption, alteration, or destruction of data that occurs during or as a result of repair services, regardless of cause. This includes situations where data loss is caused by component failure, repair procedures, firmware updates, factory resets required to complete a repair, or any other circumstances.
We strongly recommend performing a full backup to iCloud, Google Drive, a computer, or another external storage method before dropping off your device. We may ask whether you have backed up your data prior to beginning service. If you decline to back up your data or confirm that a backup is not possible, you acknowledge and accept all risk of data loss.
Fixoid technicians will not access, browse, or use the contents of your device beyond what is strictly necessary to confirm the repair was completed successfully (for example, opening the camera app after a camera repair, or placing a test call after a speaker repair). We will not access personal files, messages, photos, emails, or accounts unless you specifically request this as part of the service.
Repair Parts
Fixoid may use new, refurbished, rebuilt, aftermarket, or original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts to complete repairs, depending on availability, device model, and the nature of the repair. The type of part used will be disclosed to you prior to or during the repair authorization process.
- OEM parts — Original parts made by or for the device manufacturer. These are typically the highest quality option and may carry the device manufacturer's specifications.
- Aftermarket parts — Third-party parts manufactured to compatible specifications. Quality may vary. We only source aftermarket parts from vetted suppliers.
- Refurbished parts — Previously used components that have been tested and restored to working condition.
You will be informed if a specific part type is unavailable and offered alternatives. Using aftermarket or non-OEM parts may affect certain device functions, features, or certifications (such as Face ID calibration or True Tone display on Apple devices). Fixoid will disclose any known limitations of the parts being used in your repair.
All parts removed from your device during a repair become the property of Fixoid unless you make a specific written request to retain them at the time of drop-off. We reserve the right to decline this request for safety or disposal reasons.
Estimates & Payment
Fixoid will provide you with a repair estimate before beginning work. Estimates are based on the information available at the time of inspection and are subject to change if additional damage is discovered once the device is opened or disassembled.
- If additional issues are discovered during repair that increase the cost, we will contact you for approval before proceeding. No additional work will be performed without your authorization.
- If we cannot reach you and the repair cannot be safely paused, we may reassemble the device in its original (unrepaired) condition and hold it for pickup.
- Estimates are valid only at the location from which they were provided and are subject to part availability at the time of service.
- Estimates do not include applicable taxes or fees unless stated otherwise.
Payment is due in full at the time of device pickup unless alternative arrangements have been agreed to in writing. Fixoid accepts cash, major credit and debit cards, and other payment methods as posted in-store. We reserve the right to hold your device until payment is received in full.
A non-refundable diagnostic fee may apply in certain cases, particularly for devices with complex issues requiring extended evaluation. If applicable, this fee will be disclosed to you before any diagnostic work begins and may be credited toward the cost of the repair if you choose to proceed.
Repair Risks
You acknowledge that all electronic repairs carry inherent risks, and by authorizing service you accept those risks. Specific risks include but are not limited to:
- Pre-existing damage — Devices with pre-existing damage such as water exposure, prior repairs, or structural damage may be more susceptible to additional issues during service. We will attempt to identify and communicate pre-existing damage before beginning work, but some issues may only become apparent once the device is opened.
- Battery risk — Devices with swollen, punctured, or degraded batteries may pose a safety risk during repair. If we identify a battery issue, we may require battery replacement before proceeding or may decline to service the device for safety reasons.
- Manufacturer warranty — Repair services performed by Fixoid may void any remaining manufacturer's warranty on your device. Fixoid is not responsible for any manufacturer warranty that is voided as a result of our services.
- Software and features — Some repairs may affect software functionality, biometric features (such as Face ID or fingerprint sensors), or device-specific certifications depending on parts used and the nature of the repair. Known limitations will be disclosed prior to service.
- Unrepairable devices — In some cases, a device may be determined to be unrepairable during service. If this occurs, you will be notified immediately. A diagnostic fee may still apply.
Fixoid technicians are trained professionals and will take all reasonable care with your device. However, by authorizing a repair, you acknowledge these inherent risks and agree that Fixoid's liability is limited as described in Section 12 of these Repair Terms.
Limited Warranty
Fixoid stands behind its work. All repair services and replacement parts are covered by a limited warranty as described below.
All repairs performed by Fixoid are warranted for 90 days from the date of service. If a covered repair fails within this period due to defective parts or workmanship, Fixoid will re-repair the device at no additional charge.
To make a warranty claim, return the device to the Fixoid location where the original repair was performed. We will evaluate the device and determine whether the issue falls within the scope of warranty coverage at our sole discretion. If the issue is covered, repair will be performed at no cost to you.
The warranty covers defects in the parts supplied and the workmanship of the repair performed. It does not extend to any pre-existing conditions, new damage, or issues unrelated to the original repair. See Section 08 for full warranty exclusions.
Warranty Exclusions
The limited warranty described in Section 07 does not apply to the following:
- Damage caused by accidents, drops, impacts, or physical abuse after the repair has been completed
- Liquid or moisture damage occurring after the repair
- Damage caused by unauthorized repair attempts by any party other than Fixoid after our service has been performed
- Normal wear and tear, including battery degradation over time
- Software issues, viruses, malware, operating system failures, or issues caused by software updates applied after the repair
- Cosmetic damage including scratches, dents, or discoloration not caused by the repair
- Devices on which the serial number has been altered, removed, or is otherwise unverifiable
- Issues unrelated to the specific repair performed (e.g., a pre-existing speaker issue is not covered by a screen repair warranty)
- Damage caused by use of non-Fixoid accessories or chargers after service
- Any device deemed abandoned under Section 09
Fixoid's determination of whether a warranty claim is valid is final. If we determine the issue is not covered under warranty, we will provide you with a new repair estimate before any additional work is performed.
Device Abandonment
When your device is ready for pickup, Fixoid will contact you using the contact information you provided at drop-off. We will make reasonable attempts to reach you via phone, text, or email.
If you fail to pick up your device within 60 days of our first contact attempt, your device will be considered abandoned. Abandoned devices become the property of Fixoid 1 LLC and may be disposed of, recycled, sold, or otherwise used at our discretion in accordance with applicable law.
- Any fees owed for repair or diagnostics remain due regardless of device abandonment
- Fixoid is not responsible for data remaining on an abandoned device
- No compensation will be provided for abandoned devices
If you are unable to pick up your device within the standard timeframe, please contact us in advance to make alternative arrangements. We will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests.
Lost or Damaged Devices
Fixoid takes the physical security of your device seriously. We maintain secure storage and take reasonable precautions to protect devices left in our care. In the unlikely event that your device is lost, stolen, or damaged while in our possession for repair, we will take one of the following actions at our discretion:
- Repair the device to its pre-service condition at no cost to you, or
- Replace the device with a device of comparable make, model, and condition (which may be new or refurbished)
Fixoid's maximum liability in the event of a lost or damaged device shall not exceed the lesser of: (a) the current market value of the device at the time it was submitted for service, or (b) the cost of a comparable replacement device of like kind and quality.
Fixoid is not responsible for any loss of data stored on a device that is lost or damaged in our care. You are responsible for backing up your data prior to drop-off as described in Section 03.
Turnaround Time
Fixoid will provide an estimated turnaround time at drop-off. Repair times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Factors that may affect turnaround time include:
- Parts availability and shipping time if parts need to be ordered
- Complexity of the repair or discovery of additional damage
- High service volume at the time of drop-off
- Need to obtain your authorization for additional work
- Circumstances outside of our control, including supply chain issues or equipment delays
We will keep you informed of any significant delays. Fixoid is not liable for any damages, losses, or inconveniences arising from repair delays. If you require your device by a specific date for a time-sensitive reason, please inform us at the time of drop-off and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fixoid and Fixoid 1 LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the repair services, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, photos, contacts, or files
- Loss of business, revenue, or profits
- Loss of use of your device during the repair period
- Damage to software, applications, or digital content
- Costs associated with data recovery attempts
- Any loss arising from manufacturer warranty voidance
In all cases, Fixoid's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from repair services shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific repair in question. If no payment was made, our maximum liability is zero.
Nothing in these Repair Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Privacy & Your Device
Fixoid respects your privacy. Our technicians are trained to handle your device with discretion and will only access device functions as necessary to perform and verify the repair. We do not browse personal files, read messages, view photos, or access accounts on your device.
Before dropping off your device, we recommend the following steps to protect your privacy:
- Back up all data and, if possible, perform a factory reset before drop-off (especially for major repairs)
- Share only the device passcode or access needed to verify the repair — change your passcode temporarily if preferred
- Log out of sensitive applications such as banking, email, or social media apps
- Remove your SIM card if your repair does not require cellular functionality
- Disable Find My iPhone / Find My Device features before drop-off, as these may interfere with certain repairs
All personal information collected at drop-off (name, phone number, email) is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available at /privacy. We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Governing Law
These Repair Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Fixoid 1 LLC is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from repair services that cannot be resolved informally should be brought in the appropriate courts of that state.
If any provision of these Repair Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Fixoid's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Repair Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Fixoid reserves the right to update these Repair Terms at any time. The most current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our repair services after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
