Data Loss Situations We Recover From
01
Accidental Deletion
Emptied the trash or formatted the drive by mistake? Files are often still recoverable — as long as you stop using the drive immediately and don't write anything new to it.
02
Water & Liquid Damage
Dropped in water, spilled coffee on it — liquid damage is serious but doesn't always mean data is lost. Bring it in fast, don't try to charge it or turn it on.
03
Physical Damage
Dropped drives, cracked phones, snapped connectors. We work at the component level to access your data even when the device itself is beyond repair.
04
Corrupted Drive
Drive shows up but won't open, asks to format, or throws errors. Partition and file system corruption is often recoverable — stop writing to the drive and bring it in.
05
Drive Won't Power On
Clicking, beeping, or completely dead. We diagnose the failure and determine the best recovery path — sometimes the data is completely intact even when the drive isn't.
06
Ransomware & Virus
Files encrypted or deleted by malware. Depending on the variant, partial or full recovery may be possible. We'll tell you what's realistic before we try anything.
Data Recovery Turnaround Times
Flash Drives & SD Cards
Simple deletions and corruptions are usually fast. Physical damage takes longer.
24hrs – 48hrs
External Hard Drives
Depends on drive condition, failure type, and amount of data to recover.
24hrs – 1 week
Smartphones & Tablets
Hardware repair time adds to recovery time. Liquid damage cases vary widely.
2 days – 2 weeks
Laptops & Desktops
Drive extraction, setup, and recovery all factor in. Complex cases take more time.
3 days – 2 weeks
Severely Damaged Drives
Clicking drives, failed heads, or donor part sourcing can extend timelines significantly.
Weeks – Months+
Large Data Volumes
Recovering terabytes of data takes more time. We'll give you an honest estimate upfront.

Common questions.
For external drives, flash drives, SD cards, and any device that still powers on normally — yes, completely free. If your device needs hardware repair before we can even access the storage, we'll let you know the labor cost upfront before doing anything.
Often yes. Reformatting typically removes the file index but leaves the actual data intact on the drive. As long as new data hasn't been written over it, recovery is usually possible. The sooner you stop using the drive, the better your chances.
Yes — a clicking drive usually means the read/write heads have failed. Stop using it immediately. Every click can cause more damage to the platters. Bring it in as soon as possible — the data is often still recoverable if you act fast.
Your data never leaves our shop and is never stored on our systems after recovery is complete. We work on your drive directly, transfer the recovered files, and that's it. We don't keep copies, we don't access personal files unnecessarily, and we don't share anything with third parties.
We always image the drive before attempting any recovery — meaning we work from a copy, not the original. This protects your data from further damage during the process. If a drive is severely degraded, we'll tell you upfront before we do anything.
If we can't recover your files, you don't pay for the recovery attempt. The only exception is if your device needed hardware repair first to access the storage — that labor is charged regardless of recovery outcome, and we'll tell you that before we start.
We transfer your recovered files onto a new external drive or USB that you provide, or we can supply one for a small fee. We'll walk you through everything when you pick up — we don't just hand you a drive and wish you luck.
No — don't turn it on, don't charge it, and don't put it in rice. Powering on a wet device causes shorts that permanently damage components. Bring it in as soon as possible. The faster we get to it, the better the chances of recovering both the device and your data.
No appointment needed — walk in any day we're open and we'll take a look right away. You can also start a recovery request online if you'd prefer to give us the details ahead of time.
Yes — photos are one of the most common things we recover. Whether they were accidentally deleted, lost when a card corrupted, or stuck on a dead phone or laptop, we recover photo and video files from virtually every device and storage type. File type doesn't affect our ability to recover — it's about the state of the storage, not what's on it.
